A multi billion dollar industry is not going to get locked up. Right now a majority of the protesters and online anti-gun lobbyists talk about semi-automatic weapons being the problem. Virtually all modern, commercially available weapons are semi-automatic. Many shooters have mental health issues. An overwhelming majority of those with mental health issues never shoot people. There is an inherent misunderstanding of weapons and the causation vs. correlation of the mindset and mental proclivity of shooters.
