Agreed on principle, but it doesn't always work.

I was still in college when I bought my wife's ring. I spent i think $2-300 on it, which was basically all I had at the time. It's pretty small, and the diamond is basically the size of a large pin head, but she likes it, particularly because with her job as a vet, a "normal" ring would get in the way.
I do remember that when we went to shop for wedding bands, the woman at the shop did the usual act all excited to see her ring kind of thing, and it was really funny watching her feign excitement at what must have been the smallest diamond she had ever seen.

Just over 5 years ago now, I was in the military, and let me tell you...
We had quarterly, if not monthly, sexual assault prevention training, and it all felt like this poster.
If the woman is at all drunk, or even tipsy, its basically rape.
It doesn't matter how much the dude had to drink, or any sort of details about the situation, females + alcohol = rape.
This particular poster may be old, but I can confirm that at least in recent history, this attitude still exists

Eh... Whatever floats your boat, but I prefer classy-sexy as opposed to clothes-too-tight-sexy

Agreed.
But a drunk yes is still a yes. Just like a drunk no is still a no.
Sex is literally the only thing where this is a grey area, and it annoys the hell out of me.

I hate the whole "too drunk to consent" bs.
You are responsible for your own actions, drunk or not.
That mentality works with anything else besides sex, I don't see why sex should be any different.
If I get a telemarketing call about my car's extended warranty, and I'm drunk, so I agree to everything... Can I call the next day and say I was "too drunk to consent"?
Now, if you're drunk and attempting to refuse, but the other person is forcing the issue, that's a different story.

Soooo... The defending side just pulls the planks the bridge and proceeds to make faces at the attackers who are now stuck, lol.
Excellent artwork though, my sarcastic comments aside.

Kitty, there was plenty of non-military damage, I never said there wasn't.
But the prime target was military production and as others have mentioned, attempts were made to warn the population.
Im also not saying that dropping these bombs was specifically a *good* thing, as I think we can all agree that loss of life is bad. But one of the deciding factors in using nuclear weapons.to end the war was that the only other option would have been and invasion of mainland Japan.
Based on experience in invading islands just as Okinawa and Iwo Jima, estimates for the death toll *just* on the US side for a mainland invasion were in the millions...
The war needed to end, and based on the options available at the time, A nuclear bomb was the fastest and least destructive way to accomplish that.

Yeeeeaaahhh because being at war with a country, targeting cities with known military production centers, and making every attempt to warn the government and population that the cities would be destroyed is the same as crashing planes into unsuspecting civilians with an intent of causing as much non-military damage as possible...
