It's not uncommon to have a dog trained to stay if it is a situation like seizures where they may hurt themselves, while others are trained to seek aid if their owner had fallen and is incapacitated. Few people with seek out a barking dog to find out the cause, but if that fog comes up to them barking and trying to direct them they are more likely to pay attention.
