Being shot at. Calls at midnight. Being followed. Seeing people get shot. Seeing car accidents.

The first one is the most likely to cause PTSD but don't count your chickens before they hatch.

I kniw which is why i want to go get it checked. How do i approach my parents about seeing a qualified person?

Just tell them you've been having nightmares or night terrors, always seemed to work on mine.

You might just need to tell them straight out, explain that you're having continues nightmares that are disturbing you and are preventing you from sleeping etc. and tell them you think you need to see someone. It's hard with these things but they want the best for you so sometimes honesty is just the best way

I know this chat is a few days old but I specialise in PTSD and trauma. I have a few patients that want to be discreet and the best way for them to get help was to say they couldn't sleep. Sleeping problems are serious enough to get you in to see someone, but not very stigmatising. And that way you don't have to tell your parents more than you want to. So a "hey I've been having lots of trouble sleeping and I think I need to see someone about it" could be your best bet.
