I know... i just said it's not a privilege. It's just harder to be black in some cases.
barneystinson · 6 years ago
Its also easier in my school there's legit not one black guy thats like praised

Wait what?

That must be a your-school thing because I write for my school newspaper, ran for president (lost) and also participated in student council. Also, I did band, and had decent grades. My classmates were shit, but none of my teachers had issues.

Out of 400 or so students in the 8th grade class I graduated from, 10 or less were black. I was part of that group. You could easily fill a classroom with the amount of black people that attended my entire middle school.

And I’m one of them.

What is your point?
barneystinson · 6 years ago
there are only 7 hispanics in my school and im the 7th and its a school of 1,500 students i still dont see how that's relevant
rosebud · 6 years ago
my point is that I’ve never heard of this “white or black privilege” bullshit and I don’t think it exists.
barneystinson · 6 years ago
There is no such thing thats the point of the chat

I assume we are talking about the US? Cuz.... yah.... let's see how far that white privilege gets you in Chad.

The HS I graduated from, 07, was 20% white, 30% black, 15% hispanic, 15% indian/paki, 15% oriental/SE asian and 5% just... uh? who knows... just random mixes. I was lucky that I got to experience so much culture at a young age.... but it seriously jaded my world view. My dad is racist AF and I can't even begin to help point out how wrong his bias is since he lives literally 700 miles away. I hoped all around the country through college and experienced even more stuff.... but it seems like literally every new person I met was racist in their own way. (I know i use nigga a lot... coach took us from elementary school to state championship... and I was the token white guy)... College and the rest of the world were different... I adapted.... pretty easily actually. If "White Privilege" exists.. it exists in the form that it's MUCH easier for a white person to conform if we want to. It's like we are given camo when we are born and get to chose if we want to use it.

What the fuck is white privilege? The human race sucks and I can't wait until we all disappear and cats rule the world.

And here come the cynical

I like animals better than people as a rule.

White privilege shouldnt be called white privilege. It basically just means you have to deal with less racism in your lifetime
deleted · 6 years ago
Well yeah I guess. But just cus someone's white doesn't automatically mean they'll deal with less racism in life, it's a social and environmental dependant thing.
carne_asada · 6 years ago
It kinda does mean they'll deal with very little racism. I'm sure you guys all know I don't believe in systematic oppression or any of that stuff, but I still think it can be hard to be black in America in some aspects
deleted · 6 years ago
Yeah it can be I guess, I dunno cus I'm British and it might be different here?
