From my understanding, one of the characters is meant to be Danny Ocean's sister, so it's not a remake but a new, original movie in the series.

Ghostbusters tried to hard to be funny. There was nothing natural about like the original. Same with Oceans 11, the characters felt like they were being themselves. If they can get the right cast of women to accomplish this then it will succeed. Plus Oceans 11 isn't as beloved as Ghostbusters, so if there's backlash it won't be as prominent as it was with the Ghostbusters reboot.

Oceans 11 was pretty good. Im not going to bag the female reboot, but im going to be wary.
