I feel as tough it may be next to impossible to accurately predict the state of the world that far into the future. If a Third World War doesn’t break out in that time, then I believe that NASA will dissolve and make way for private space enterprises. Prejudice and inequality will continue to plague our society, despite the efforts of many to promote equality. Technology will evolve and change to suit the changing times, and capitalism will remain as the dominant global economic system. Climate change will continue to plague the earth, because the efforts of people trying to mitigate the issue will be squandered by the efforts of those who do not think it is an issue.

How do you think colonies on Mars will affect society on Earth?
cannibananalism · 6 years ago
If we are talking only the next few decades, it is improbable yet not impossible that a substantial colony will be thoroughly established. I imagine only extremely wealthy people will set foot on mars for the sake of sheer excitement, and brilliant scientists and innovators will reap the benefit of a clean slate of a planet to work with.
