"Just another gay movie" - I'm sorry what? You can probably list every movie with a gay love story in a single chat message on here, but it'd take days to do the same for straight movies. It's also important to have a movie with a young protagonist to oppose the prevalent idea that you need time and experimenting to know you're gay; most everybody knows fairly early on who we're attracted to. Finally, it's great to see these themes from a mainstream studio, since a majority of the gay media comes from indie productions that don't hold as much influence.

I want to see it. It looks funny, yet with a good story and message.

Brokeback Mountain is the best gay movie ever. Fight me.
Seriously though... it's a fucking gorgeous movie.

I never saw it but isn’t it really sad? Love simon is supposed to be upbeat and happy. I don’t know very many happy gay movies

I just got back from Love, Simon. That movie was revolutionary. It perfectly shows what life is like for young, gay people (like myself) without making it too dramatic and unrealistic. They show homophobia in other ways than straight out “Gays are bad!” which really stuck out for me. All three of my friends and myself cried. It’s definitely not “just another gay movie”.
