I'm deing very serious. why would if de joking?
mrsuperman8942 · 5 years ago
no but seriously my sister always spells words wrong just because she puts her b's and d's backwards so in stead of spelling "dishes" she would spell "bishes".

I get the two mixed up often as well.
I have to stop myself and think for a bit when I hit one in writing.

Have you heard about bed? The word bed looks like a bed, and you can put your fists together with a thumbs up and it will help to remind you. I don't know too much about dyslexia so I don't know if that would help.

I remember being told that "the letter b looks up to his father, B. And because of that he follows in his footsteps."

I have dyslexia. Sometimes I don't realize something is one way because I see it another way until someone points it out to me. Maybe your sister can also practice spelling the words using different colors for the b and d to make them easier to differentiate until she is able to do it on her own. @silvermyth I really like the bed idea. I used the make an L with your hands tip for a long time.

@silvermyth I had a poster like that above my bed when I was learning my b's an d's hahaha
@mrsuperman8942 I would advise not to get frustrated at them, after all they're just kids and spelling is hard which can often be forgotten when you're older and it's automatic but when they're starting off it's difficult so positive reinforcement and encouragement should be used.

yeah , on thing i use to help her is by saying " b looks at the letters after it and d looks at the letters before it".
also did no one notice that i typed "b" instead of "d" and vice cersa?
