socialism would be wonderful, as well as communism, if it worked the way it did in theory. If everyone was happy with being equal, if humans weren't such greedy bastards, if humans weren't so power and fame hungry, these would work beautifully, and everyone would be happy.
Unfortunately, humans are shit, and nobody wants to be equal with everyone else. that's the real fall of socialism and communism.

For Socialism, corruption must be near eliminated.

Socialism does not mean communism. Socialism is the warmup to communism. Socialism is the system where we slowly evolve peoples thought patterns generation to generation making them less materialistic and generally more willing to do good/ great things for their country and their field simply because it is a good thing to do and not because you can gain wads. This creates new motivation and causation for the working class to stay working and those who are unable to work can still have a chance at life. Then comes communism and way down the line anarchism where we as a race of beings has reached the ultimate moral highground in which we simply do not find governance necassary nor authority because year after year of social evolution we find that we dont have to be shitty people and it's easy to get rid if the shitty people so we can handle ourselves.

That's quite a stretch, considering humans have been at war with each other for years even under Communism.

But it would be very nice to live in a world where humans didn't like to dick over other humans.

Past communism was fascism. If you have the biggest influencers enacting socialist values at least watch it all change.

I think we should incorporate characteristics of capitalism and socialism to create a hybrid .
I don't have an idea on where to start though.

I like scandinavian countries systems, but it probably only works because of their population.

Yes, I know that there is a lot of trust up north. You can leave your wallet at the table and not fear it getting stolen. Getting your house painted? The whole neighborhood might chip in.

Never hurts to have a large amount of money for a smaller population though.

In the case of Norway, they have a lot of oil money.

I tried to say that I believe in socialism during one of my classes a few weeks ago but some kid called me a nazi and a communist
silvermyth · 7 years ago
Happened to me also, and my teacher called me a communist.

I think like y'all already said humans are not inherently good, and past history shows over and over we are not getting better, and that is not something that is going to change. If we were not greedy and lazy communism would be perfect, but life isn't perfect so Capitalism is needed.

Not with that attitude, things can change.

Things change slowly. Being an optimist and only looking to changes in 5 or so years is asking a lot without drastic things happening. Scientifically and Medically we advance in leaps and bounds, thanks to modern day production, but societal norms slowly change over generations. It'll probably happen, probably, but it'll take a hell of a long time to do so. Although on a another topic the reason we don't like the idea of co-operating together probably could go back to even before the stone age, at a celluluar level. All progression through life was at the expense of similar and dissimilar forms of life. Demonstrated aptly by any living species on the planet, moreso by humans. It could just be instilled in us to not want to work together because thousands of hundreds of years life happened not on wholesale cooperation, but on ripping and tearing until you made it.
