I watched "Stranger Things" as recommended by my fellow funsubsters and I loved it but now I feel confused. I need answers!

Sorry for replying late.OK, questions:
1) is Eleven alive???
2) why is Nancy with that popular guy and not with Wills brother? It seemed like she liked him!
3) how did they make a gate to the Upside Down?
4) Why Hawkins? Why not somewhere else?
5) when is the second series out?
6) do they still make Eggos Waffles? They look delicious.
7) when in the 80s is this set? Early or late?

1) YES You must not accept any other answer. Proof? Eggos.
2) She liked Jonathan, it's true, but I think she decided to give Steve a chance.
3) El is "gifted" with ESP. They used a sensory deprivation tank because it is believed that it intensifies these abilities. Would you like to know how a sensory deprivation tank works?
4) Originally they wanted to set it in Montauk (also the original title of the show), because it was on the coast and the creators were huge "Jaws" fans. But then for production reasons they decided for elsewhere. Hawkins is an imaginary town. Very quiet, everybody knows each other, quite boring. You wouldn't expect anything strange to happen there. When it does happen, it makes you feel violated, not safe. I guess these are the reasons and I would also add the nostalgic factor (this show quotes many famous Eighties movies&TV shows).
