I honestly don't understand why it bothers people so much...You say you don't want to bring race into it, yet you're bothered by it...as I said, achievements come first...if the person feels like they're representing a community which succeeded against adversity of not being quite as "privileged" as some others (there's obviously successful black people too), so be it. There's a lot of heroes in history that are represented and they are black (or any other race) and people take pride in that...I'm not bothered to be honest, she knows she doesn't represent the whole community, however, that doesn't mean she shouldn't be of a certain race and be proud of her achievements within the black community... community meaning a certain group (people call this the ghetto)... "white people" might not do it because they recognize it as a standard achievement, other people don't have it as easy...downvote all you want

well the problem is that its always reduced to race...when someone says black excellence or latino,whatever, indicates that the person fought for getting an education...its about low socio-economic status which is, in majority, either black or latino...it's representation (it matters)...there's no reason for offence or pettiness when you cant even feel happy for the person but instead bring race into it as if it's the only thing that matters

I would love to hear an instance in which someone posts a sensationalist story and has posted a source (talking to those whose purpose is to post something so people lose their shit at nothing)
