As a centrist, thank you for this post. Both left leaning and right leaning people often shit on centrists for always being in the middle or "always making compromises", but really I just don't want to join either of their cults and I just have moderate opinions.

1) That's adorable.
2) The colour a person is "feeling" at a particular moment often reflects their mental state at that moment, so the friend can quite accurately guess how she's feeling by what color she prefers at that moment. It's not only a super nice thing to do but also very smart.

In terms of the overall topic of the post? I think the feminists are going too far by saying that catcalling counts as rape. Catcalling is annoying but it's far from actual rape, and by counting it in they're discrediting and silencing actual rape victims. However, I think the guy should've expected it. I'm not saying he deserved it, but he should've expected it. See, being a woman basically means that you live with the knowledge that almost any man could overpower you at any given moment, if he wanted to. This knowledge makes us… a little jumpy at times, and someone using physical force,in which they have a clear advantage, on us may result in a spontaneuous reaction. Even more so if she's already experienced some form of harrassment or sexual assault.

I'm okay with people eating dogs or cats, it's their culture and it's just what they do, just like we eat cows and pigs and so on. However, all animals should be treated ethically, not caged like these dogs are. Also I think there's a Chinese belief that dogs taste better when tortured beforehand, which is just disgusting. But speaking of bad treatment, a similar argument could be made against western countries and our shitty treatment of chickens, cows and pigs. It's kind of hypocritical that some American activists protest eating dogs but not the fact that chickens are kept in tiny cages, fed with steroids and killed when they stop laying eggs.

I wish it worked that way…
