This reminds me of a fake story about BK "bowing to sharia law" in 2015 (snopesDOTcomSLASHfact-check/burger-king-sharia-law/) and it seems the exact same group of internet people decided to get facts as wrong as possible - again, deliberately or not.

Getting a misunderstanding explained has never stopped anyone on the internet from explaining to you in detail how you'd be wrong anyway if you had meant what you didn't mean in the first place. That's especially popular with my fellow germans...

We would assume someone commenting an article has read the article and not just the headline.

Ok, now that I read that sentence, it sounds like a lecture on how to properly harness a horse to a carriage.

As far as I understand the concept, it's meant to be used in space (travel), to absorb CO2, produced by whatever breathing being is traveling in space which is a good thing that plants can do as well (will the robot leaves produce oxygen as well?), PLUS usable energy which I reckon is in the form of electricity which plants can't do, at least not without burning or fermenting them, both of which are not really ideal concepts in any given space travel situation. So it would appear the red marker person went for the cheap joke without wasting too much time considering it their joke made any sense at all.

Why does it look as though you feel personally attacked? Definitely not my intention, apparently. Also parts 4-6 were NOT part of the originally intended TRIlogy ;-) if I may correct you...

To be fair though, 1-3 are the real deal and just 100% brilliant and flawless, like the first two Guns N' Roses albums. They are what Adams planned as trilogy. 4 and 5 are sort of meh and he wrote them after his publishers pleaded to him and (hopefully) paid him a fortune. That's like G N' R from 1991-93. Nobody needed that but at least it's Slash on guitar. 6 isn't even written by Douglas, That's like G N' R without Slash. Why bother?

Wich is "sudden infant death syndrome" which by definition is the UNexplained death of a less than 1 yo baby. Wiki says: "Diagnosis requires that the death remain unexplained even after a thorough autopsy and detailed death scene investigation."

Art is drugs 2 comments

You DON'T want to do the type of drugs this art îs apparently influenced by. It's extracts from Solanaceae and most probably "experiences" from rye ergot fungus, and that shit is really nasty and makes for a less than enjoyable trip. This is the kind of shamanistic drug that you survive, not enjoy. The kind of drug not even your serious stoner friend Shaggy would pop on a saturday night.

In germany, way too many people call them advocados. Mostly the same people who order an "expresso" in a coffeeshop

Let me tell you about a country where still many people have super small data limits, like a couple hundred mb a month. Is it Burkina Faso? Is it rural Somalia? Nope. It's Germany. Now combine shitty bandwidth outside bigger cities with that and you're welcome to one of the richest, most developed countries on this planet.

See the paradox of tolerance, as ie. stipiulated by Karl Popper. "Unlimited tolerance must lead to the disappearance of tolerance" and that does not only include what @famousone rightfully added. It also takes into account that the balance of a society can become very unstable once a party or group, has learned to abuse freedom of speech and is constantly pushing the limits of what's tolerable. The growing cancellation culture on the left side is a very visible attempt to limit freedom of speech, the agenda on the right side however, will also always result in a cancellation of free speech, even when they advocate for it. Good examples are Hungary and Poland, where right nationalist parties always dwelled on free speech until they got into power.

That pitbull knows what's good for it. I grew up on a little farm and we had a couple of semi-domesticated cats in the yard to keep the rodents in charge, and there was this 6 or 7 lbs tiny black cutie that literally chopped a big ass german shepherd to death when he came too close to her kittens. She jumped his neck and started hacking like a meth fiend in a prison drama, and he lost so much blood that he died a couple hours later. All the neighborhood dogs knew her and would avoid her under any circumstances, he was the new kid on the block, owned by some city slicker new neighbors, and he didn't read that cat well enough. They tried to make us set up a fence, so their new dog couldn't get on our premises. About as smart as their dog...

I criticize anti-vaxxers as much as the next sane person, but this meme is stupid. There isn't even a vaccination against covid 19 yet, and to my understanding most anti-vaxxers don't deny there are infectious diseases.

When Hitler said smoking was bad, it doesn't make the rest of what he said any more valid, and given the fact that there are way more wholesome advocates against smoking, it would appear as a weird choice to quote Hitler on this anyway. No bad person in history has probably said anything wise or important to know that some way more decent person hasn't said, too. And as scatmandingo pointed out already, had Ivanka known the historic context of Jefferson's letter, she would probably not have used it. Or, well, maybe she would've done so anyway. Truth and facts are not exactly part of her family traditions.
