Ah it makes more sense now and yeah I agree some of the “witty” signs can usually need more work to send a more clear message. I think a good goal to set is to write something similar to the boards saying “I (or we) can’t breathe” since it references George Floyd’s last words, immediately sending the message while also throwing an emotional gut-punch. But honestly as long as the idea is there it doesn’t matter if one protester amongst many can’t formulate their stance amazingly. Still, it is nice to see this person breaking away from their dads harmful ideals. :)

I get where you’re coming from guest but the thing is that when you’re protesting you don’t really have the space on your board to construct a multifaceted argument in a way so that many people from far away will be able to read it. The point of a board is to make a snappy remark that draws people in and shows in the most simple terms what you’re doing and believe in. One can assume that he means he will educate his children or family properly so they won’t hold racism ideas but yea of course he has no control over what someone 200 years from now will do. However, if we can change our culture today then that will stick with us, at least in the history books and if you look at the history of acceptance of minorities it has been a clear progression, despite the set-backs. With you final point I don’t really understand what you mean with the “few dice throws away from your personal hell” so be a dear and tell me how that is relevant.

@strangelyacoustic the first pride demonstrations were mainly organized by black transwomen so the movement has always been connected to black empowerment as well. I think adding the brown and the black is a tribute to those women and a symbol for the fight against racism even within the LGBT+ movement.
