Yeah. There are different interpretations to their relationship but I like to imagine them as Wednesday and Enid in the Wednesday series. With a bit more Stockholm syndrome I guess. Again, depending on the interpretation.

Ha, interestingly enough I was just talking about this with my dad while watching some sci-fi movie. It's amazing how humans can learn to use tools/machines with such precision that it becomes second nature, and even quickly adjust to tools with slightly different settings. Take driving for instance, a seasoned driver's brain will make such precise calculations that the driver will know to turn the wheel by fractions of a degree while going over 200 km/h to straighten the car's course. It's pretty mind-blowing.

Eh I'd say nobody likes feeling either unloved or inadequate. But yes doing something like this to embarrass someone is a red flag.

For the longest time I thought I was an extreme introvert, and I mean I still am introverted, but it also turns out I was just surrounded by crappy people. Going out with the right people is the best.

Great advice. It sucks that so often leadership roles are chosen by confidence. On the one hand I get it, confidence inspires people, but some of the most confident people I've ever met were actually the most useless idiots when push came to shove.

Coming to work 15 minutes early. I worked as a receptionist in a language school and I found that coming in 15 minutes before the first lesson as was company policy wasn't enough time to get everything ready, so I came 30 minutes early so that the clients wouldn't arrive to me running around and still preparing stuff. Teachers and a few clients actually praised me for always having everything ready and neat unlike the other receptionists. Still, I was scolded because I dared log those 15 minutes into my work hours (note: I was a part timer and paid basically peanuts, also I only had an early morning shift once a week). And yes I had tried telling them that 15 minutes wasn't enough but they didn't care.

Yeah I live in a big city and honestly I can't wait to get the fuck out of here. Crowds, noise, trash and graffiti everywhere, expensive bad quality housing, no privacy, bad air, everytime I use public transport there's a drunk/junkie being loud and potentially dangerous... and the benefits don't outweigh the negatives anymore, these days everything I want I can have shipped, and transport between cities is so good that it wouldn't take me more than an extra 15-20 minutes to get to work as opposed to now.
I think I wouldn't go fully rural though, maybe like a smaller city or town.

Man, that book is so well written, as a series of journals and articles and diary entries and such, with each character writing slightly differently but all of them embodying the quaintness of old English.

To be fair the Roman Empire lasted for a couple hundred years so there could've just been a few centuries between "feeding Christians to lions" and "the Emperor embracing Christianity". That said I don't know that much about Rome so I could be wrong.

In Czechia we have all kinds of marzipan animals and figurines. The ones you get in stores are usually quite simple, just a basic head with a snout and ears, but you can get more artisanal ones too. They can be eaten on their own (when I was growing up, it was the kind of thing that parents would buy their kids when going shopping together, kids love it because it's sweet and looks like a cute animal) but they're also often used to decorate cakes.
Damn, now I kinda wanna eat one, haven't had one of these in years.

I agree. Look, if you wanna drink and loosen up, that's alright. But forcing other people to do it is just inappropriate.
My friends and I can have "laugh until you're crying and your stomach hurts" amounts of fun without it, if you can't, you might not be in good company.

Nah, I agree. Everyone tries to have minimalist logos nowadays to the point the consumer can barely tell what it's supposed to represent.
