We could've starved them to death instead. Wouldn't have even risked a single pilot that way. Or let the Soviets take them. Or invade ourselves.

A lot of the people I know that are further Right than me regard libertarians as only slightly less bad than Democrats.

Libertarians aren't quite conservatives. It's just that conservatives do way less thought-policing these days. Once upon a time, libertarians fell more in line with Democrats.
For the record I don't want Venezuela, Sweden, or Somalia. I want the United States of America.

Which will be kind of a disaster when representation is recalculated, as it's meant to reflect voting populations for the next ten years based off the census.

They do have representation, they just can't vote on the floor or for POTUS until they either become states, or negotiate with Congress.

We went to war to emancipate ourselves from distant elites who didn't care to hear us out or offer representation, instead seeing us as a piggy bank to break into whenever this elite class felt like we should.
Had king George allowed the colonies more self-government and a representative to the crown, there wouldn't have been an issue.

People are still trying to undo something that happened years ago. They could at least propose a moderate, but instead they move ever leftward.
