if you're doing something out of the kindness of your heart you shouldn't expect praise or reward. your true reward is knowing you are a helpful member of society. it is rude when people don't say 'please' or 'thank you', but that doesn't mean you should be inconsiderate. be a good person because you want to, not because you're looking for a 'thank you', because there will be plenty of times you won't get one.
Yeah..kindness is its own reward and I agree with that, however it takes zero real effort to say "Thank you" and if you can't be bothered to do the bare minimum to be kind back...then you deserve to fall on your ass because you aren't worth it.
Then, thank you a thousand time so you can feel special you i-did-great-deeds-everyone-should-thank-me. I think you will laugh harder if you warn her, still for going good deeds, and she still hit something.
