pretty sure you could still catch it with a normal pokeball. I caught level sixty moltres, zapdos, and articuno with a normal pokeball. i got level seventy mewtwo with a great ball. those are freaking legendarys so i think a level 100 magicarp would be easy to catch with a normal pokeball even without damaging it.
