Only if they grow in wrong or dont have enough room. Otherwise they'll be perfectly fine.

You must live in a wonderful world ... My last wisdom tooth grows right and has enough room but it takes it time slowly ripping the flesh above it apart and everytime I think it's over it decides to just rip a little more flesh off. It hurts like hell and if it wasn't for lidocaine I think I'd be dead

I had no pain at all with my wisdom teeth coming in, any of them. I have them all. Plenty of room all straight. Never hurt.

Unless your jaw is too small and they have to saw your jaw off at the wisdom teeth and put plates in to extend your jaw :D

I never felt them. They ended up impacted and had to be surgically removed.
