Don't they like, hop more than anything? I know they can't fly long distances, and for some reason I feel like they don't even do short distances well.

Yea, basically. It's really entertaining to watch them "fly" out of tall trees, cause when they land, the majority of them faceplant or something xD Maybe we just have demented turkeys here?

No, that sounds about right. I've seen the wild ones here in TN hop over fences and its hilarious to watch them land.

its quite annoying when hunting with the fact that when they "fly" its almost random were they will end up and if you any move at all no matter what one will see you and they will all get spooked and run, hop, fly, and then they are gone. It is very much so nice when they decide to walk in they are in a clump all looking in the same general area and they won't really notice you move but if you shoot you may take out half of them.
