Most of the time it isn't even the driver's fault. The manufacturer/ company shipping the item(s) will require a customer signature (like for an iPhone). Sometimes someone just has to be available to sign for the package, simple as that.
Guest, you have several options. You can make sure the package comes on your day off. You can have it held at the shipping facility & pick it up when convenient for you. You can set an appointment to make sure it comes when you're available. You can have a pre-signed (official) note on your door. So please stop bxtching because something isn't conducive to YOUR schedule. Spoiled axx brat.
I have better one. I came back home and found the usual note " You were not at home. We will try tomorrow". So I call them to ask if I could arrange the package to come to my office instead. They say they will charge me. I say no, bring it to my home as intended. They say ok. Next day there is no package. I call them, they say I don't live there anymore... I tel them I do, they tell me that driver marked I do not. I ask them why he left message saying he will come back tomorrow if he thinks I do not live here, they can not answer the question. They keep telling me I don't live there. I ask them why I was not informed yesterday about driver thinking I do not live there when I called to reschedule the package. They don't know. I ask them when I can get the package, they tell me in 4 days or I can drive to the center and pick up myself. The funniest part, this is my birthday present from my sister who lives in another country, my foot is in cast and I do not drive.
