I have read history... You only create more terrorists when you don't stay long enough to prop up a stable state. Otherwise, maliciously inclined regimes rise up to fill the power vacuum. Every conflict in which the US has stayed behind long enough to help establish a stable democracy is now a prosperous nation. Every conflict in which the US withdrew immediately afterward is now either a dictatorship hell-hole, or a terroristic hell-hole. Yes, staying behind to help the innocent takes a long time, but it's worth it.
