After Maleficent, I was excited about Disney reboot.
But Beauty & the Beast was a huge letdown. Almost the same as the cartoon with some micro additions...

And some disappointments cough cough Belle's dress cough cough
I really liked it. Beauty and the Beast is my favorite Disney Princess movie and I have 3 different retellings of it in books. The movie went into detail where the original lacked. It explained why the villagers never noticed the castle that was literally a few hours journey away, they made Belle the inventor to show why she's so isolated, Gaston is a war captain which explains why people are easily convinced by him, and they had elements from Belle Magical Christmas
Well, yeah. There also some hint that Gaston suffers PTSD & the moment his switch flip also interesting. But to make a whole new movie, to me it still feels lacking.
