Well they still do, i mean the mouth is open because they need to breathe and communicate. And yes, I'll be the first to admit there are nut jobs in the furry community. The line is drawn at syrup furries to coke furries. Most people like to focus on the coke furries, but the more tamer side like the syrups.
I myself am a syrup furry, I don't own a suit so I can't be a coke furry. Plus those things are EXPENSIVE, you have to have good money, time and dedication to buy one of those heat traps.
I have a cat fursona, who is mostly feral but can be anthro. I own two plushies and a coin purse of her, and a plethora of art commissions and gifts of her. I don't think I'd ever get a suit, though. It's wildly expensive to buy/make and even just maintain, plus I don't think I'd ever use it as I don't like going to conventions much.

It might not be the same for everybody, but if the animal charactistics turn you on, they could be into beastiality but you never know. Plus the yiffers put a damper on the whole fandom which causes normal furries to take flack

your opinion seems very skewed. there’s a thick line between being sexually attracted to an actual dog IRL, and a fictional one with perfect characteristics that you admire in someone. your assumption that “liking yiff leads to beastiality” represents the yiffing community in the same way as saying that every furry engages in yiff to begin with.
