Home Owners Association. Basically there are rules about various things to keep the neighborhood looking clean and whatnot.

technically if the HOA's rules are too far out there or they come along after and cause undue stress you can sue them.
But yeah, most are assholes that get butthurt about fence heights and shit.

Screw them! The two houses on my property are 50 years old and 131 respectively, I wouldn't change a single thing!
