Conventional wisdom tells us coke is "like Pepsi" but they are not the same. Whatever the allegory people tend to have preferences. Perhaps your vegan pal swears their fake meat is "just like" the real thing. Sucks to get shot down but just remember next time someone tries to say your favorite band or food or xyz is "just like" something else- the meaning of "like" varies person to person and seldom satisfies the urge for the thing they want. It's a compliment that you have positive traits but aren't the person they're after. Go find someone who wants someone who IS you.
You’ve already made yourself a non-sexual entity in her eyes and while she admires your personality, that spark probably will never exist. Even if you like her romantically, don’t push it. Just be there for her the best you can be and don’t be a brat that thinks being a “nice guy” entitles you to some form of sexual compensation.
