It is most definitely not designed to land in a stadium, it’s designed to land on very short runways in the middle of nowhere

No, JATOS were put on that C-130 in particular as a rescue mission to land and take off in a stadium. They're no longer used because it puts a LOT of stress in the air frame. The C-130's i work on still have the doors that they go in.

Okay I see, I thought the title meant JATO in general which definitely isn’t meant to land in a stadium. Just the one C-130 from Operation Credible Sport was
