That’s not really uncommon. The term “lesbian” to refer to female+female homosexuality has little to know evidence until the 20th century. Historically female on female relationships haven’t been viewed as harsh as male on male tends to be. Largely if women weren’t trying to perform “male” functions in society or defy their gender roles most societies haven’t cared much about lesbians. Even in its first known uses beyond referring to the isle of lesbos, “lesbian” as a term of identity referred to women trying to defy gender roles.

It’s a fine Iine. Take for instance the MWW 3 way. All three people can be straight, bi, or any mix of most sexualities. Assuming 3 straight people though- are they somehow fetishizing non hetero sex? The distinction lies in the identifier. If two non lesbian women have sex and you say it is sexy, are you fetishizing lesbians? Are you fetishizing women? Are you just participating in sex? If you accuse those people of fetishizing lesbians are you kink shaming or sex shaming? Are the straight women who enjoy yaoi fetishizing gay men? Just men? It’s a blurry thing. That said non heterosexuals fave unique challenges that we all need to be sensitive to. In the end it is not really our concern what others think of what we find attractive sexually. If you like women having sex with women, regardless of gender or sexuality it isn’t someone’s place to tell you that’s wrong, but we can still like what we like and be respectful of others.
