I remember reading awhile ago that they did studies on dead flamingos and discovered it's actually far easier for them to balance the weight of their bodies on one leg, as opposed to two. Why this is so, I'm not sure, (I know humans are constantly adjusting their own weight distribution between our legs when we are upright, so perhaps the way their legs are designed helps lessen the need for this or something) but it's interesting if it's true
