I've had people do this with a sliding glass door. I mean, it was our mistake, really-- the previous worker in that department had turned the lights out, put the closed sign up, and shut the usually opened door, but they'd failed to fully secure the lock, and it WAS only 20 minutes until that department usually opened. So, really, the customers had no choice but to force the door open
We also were instructed not to phone police etc without management's approval, unless someone was in a medical emergency, or their lives were/had been in danger, or product had been stolen in large quantities
Never done it personally, but the store I worked at had it done once a year. The manager had to come in overnight to deal with it just to avoid that kind of nightmare
My boyfriend works in retail and yeah, the stories he tells. Why is it _always_ old people pulling this kind of shit? Just yesterday his colleague was supposed to close at 8PM and he had an annoying couple of retirees ask him stupid questions up until 8:45!
They were also wearing socks with sandals though so maybe they were just a pair of psychopaths.
