Priest aren't usually shot in wartime unless the killers are dicks, example being ISIS but if this is really Venezuela then he should be ok.

Especially in a predominantly Catholic country, it's much less likely they would risk killing a priest. Anyone else may be fair game, but not a priest or nun.

Well, he is a journalist, it's kind of his job to document events like this.

Probably because we now live in a world where practically everyone has a camera on them all the time and it's totally believable for random people to risk there lives for a picture that would get them likes on social media.
