Have you traveled around Europe? Every single Catholic Church is a testament to the raping of the population and the glorification of man. Not a single Catholic Church represents the teachings of Christ. Not a single cross. Not a marble baptismal pool, not a fresco, not a gold plated dais, not a church bell... nothing. Hundreds of years of indulgences to get your dead family into heaven. The Catholics are the antithesis of Christ's teachings.
Yeah ok i get your point but those people from the picture are not catholics :)) those are from Roumania I am from Roumania and we don't agree with what they want to do either (making a really big and expensive Cathedral) but still those are orthodox christians :))

I get the point, but technically the Catholic church is, and has been for hundreds of years, the number one benefactor in the whole world
You can downvote all you want, but it's a fact that the church, at least in the past, has withheld science and spent their money on luxurious things. I'm not saying they haven't helped people, just that it's negligible next to all the other things they've done "in the name of God"
I don’t think buying a bell is a good idea, BUT why does everyone complain about not feeding the poor? Do you think handouts solve the problem? If you give continuous hand outs, there no incentive for people to better themselves.
Have you ever fed pigeons? Those fuckers always come back and bring their friends. Not one of them will go out an get a job!
Maybe the money should be spent on how to get a better job or skills training. These courses could benefit the 500 people FAR longer than food for 6 months!

Are you implying that the protestant church isn't doing that? You DO realize that the catholic church also spends a lot of its money on building pompous churches witch gold decorations and so forth. Also I don't see how any of this has to do with protestants in the forst place?
Protestant is a broad term for Christian religions that aren’t Catholic. And op’s title kind of suggests that he/she’s a Protestant. I also never said that Protestants don’t donate money. I was just trying to stick up for my religion because it was being dragged, wrongfully so.
I have never once heard of any church donating money to anything! Typically they RECEIVE money then go out and purchase or pay people to perform services. The idea that the churches are “donating” is ridiculous! The fact that they perform a public good is the only reason they’re allowed to be tax exempt, but they aren’t giving away cash like you’re implying.
There will always be suffering as long as humanity exists.
