Say there’s a friend that always lets everyone else take the good slice of pizza, and they get left with the bad slice. Everyone else thinks they WANT the bad slice, when they’re just being nice
I never really considered myself a pushover, I just was raised with a strong sense to put others' needs before me. I didn't realize until I was in college that the way my friends and acquaintances treated me was often unjustified, and I really had no clue bc I was so used it it (even now I still hardly realize it). So yeah, I think that is a possible outcome (especially since I have low self esteem) but the pros outweigh it. I sometimes see people who have no idea how self-centered they are, and it leaves them with little compassion for others, and they get angry a lot. I'm not perfect either, but I feel like im doing some things right and that is totally worth it.
