I knew that the cashier's bagged the groceries in the US .. but didn't even cross my mind that they weren't allowed to sit down. I'm just thinking it would take extra time having the cashier bag the groceries too.. I'm often done bagging when they have swiped it all, so I just pay and leave.. would feel weird just standing there watching.. but I guess that's just because I'm used to how it is in Europe (although only lived in the UK and Sweden)

I said the same thing, then when I had to get a new one (battery only lasted about 1 hour even when not used) I decided to test a pixel. Tried mums old Samsung and didn't like it, but honest to god pixel is amazing. It helped that I had 3 friends who also switched from IPhone to pixel that could vouch for it before I dared to switch.. but don't regret it for a second (and half the cost as well!)

I was thinking the same thing.. live and work in London.. my commute is over an hour one way (take the train though.. not going to pay £500 a month on parking), my friends have the same commute.. nobody complains. Sure I don't see my grandmother more than 4 times a year.. she lives 8 hours away. But when I do visit her it's for longer periods of time instead. That person just doesnt want to see their dad

Yes, in fact cars bought in Sweden automatically turn on the headlights when you starts the car. I remember having to learn to turn them on when we had a car bought in Germany.

I struggled with falling asleep for a while a year ago or so (mostly due to stress).. what I decided to do was to cut screentime an hour before going to bed, meditate for 15 minutes (listening to rain sound, sit on the floor in my dark room and starting with my toes I would concentrate on how they felt against the floor/leg/whatever they touched and then moving up going until I reach the top of my head), then I would read a book for a while before going to bed (no screens though!). It wasn't a quick fix, but after a couple of months I was able to fall asleep without remembering trying to fall asleep. Today, I fall asleep within minutes of laying down and if I'm stressed, I listen to rain sound on sleep timer and that helps too. These methods helped for me, it might not be a fix for everyone but if you havnt tried it I would recommend it!

It's all crazy to me, but she can do whatever she wants as long as she is happy I just hope it doesn't affect her physical wellbeing cause then she may need help. Also have to add she is from Sweden.. from my hometown actually.. and not from the US.

Wow. I never knew how horrible socialism is.. I mean.. lived in a socialist country for 25 years where everyone was given free healthcare and university.. where you're given maternity leave for 1.5 years and we have a smaller income gap than most other countries (no we aren't all poor.. actually quite the opposite).. my parents pay more taxes than most could ever imagine.. but are very happy as they still argue they would be worse off in a country where health care and education cost (all children with a masters degree and one pre-born). I currently live in another country, only pay marginally less in taxes but don't have the same options of luxury (holiday leave, work rights, health care, and don't even want to think about what happens if I start a family here without loads of savings) as back home. (Still love it here though.. and I moved as a bigger country/city equals more work opportunities :) )

I think its the same in many other countries.. Before the age of 18 (heck even into their 20s) all of my friends as well as I worked either in the fast food industry or retail.. personally Ive worked in retail since I was 15 and only last year got an office job after graduating university. There is nothing wrong with working in fast food or retail, it teaches you how to deal in stressful situations, how to manage working tough long shifts and how to deal with difficult people.
I wonder what it smells like. Can someone tell me what it smells like? 6 comments

Exactly.. There are way too many videos on youtube where people eat it by itself and all question the sanity of Swedes.. :P I eat it with crisp bread, potatoes, sour cream and red onion. Its really good! We also don't eat it inside because of the smell and usually open the can quite a distance from where we sit down to eat.

Having worked in retail for 7 years I can say that there will always be people like this. What people don't understand tho is that you count down the days until a new product is released. You have training on the new product the day before release and for bigger more popular items you usually know the exact stock minute by minute (for the new iPad my store even had one specific person that was allowed to sell them so that one iPad wouldn't be booked for two customers at once). I would take the "check in the back" comment as an insult.

Just let me know if you want backup rebeccawolfweb! (And just cause most schools are like that doesn't mean all are.. really from age 15 until now ( Waaaay old) I've had close friends who are openly gay, and they didn't get picked on in school, they kissed their girlfriend in the school hallway, they brought their boyfriend to prom. It is possible so fingers crossed it does get better)
