The government is accountable to parliament - the house of commons and house of Lords. The Lords have power to shut down legislation - in recent cases it's been quite a good thing (depending on which side you're on) but it's not particularly democratic.

We have plenty of sovereignty thanks. Parliament is still the ultimate decision-making body and we make/agree with most EU laws anyway. Those voting to leave are harking back to a vision of Britain that never existed. I'm proud to be part of a collaborative and outward-looking country. Vote Remain!

My dog managed about half a pint of cream, before being caught, last Christmas. He threw it all up on the carpet.

Yes! The poster doesn't offend me as such, I like the x men movies but I am so damn sick of violence against women being used in this way in every fucking thing. It's just lazy. Why does he have to be strangling her? I'd have been more comfortable with it if he was just punching her in the face.

These kinds of breeds still have a reputation, partly because if they do attack (rare) they do a lot of damage due to their strength. I can't take my dog to doggy day care because their insurance won't cover staffies - even though mine is a cross and about half the size of a regular staffy.
