No to the rubber bands, but she had the expander bridge on top. She was miserable with it!! But that only lasted about 6 months and then they could do the actual brackets. Two years of braces and now it's just a retainer at night.

Awe, that poor kid! I think it's adorable though, but not being able to fully close his mouth had to be rough. My daughter just got her braces off a couple months ago and her headaches are gone now! No more jutting her lower jaw forward all the time to get her moth to shut all the way!

A bong is decent I guess but it's much better with ice in the water. If you use a pipe, get a screen. And joints are okay but they're harsh if they aren't rolled right.
