I'm almost always on the internet, and when I'm not I'm either reading, writing or serving my furry master (the one pictured, I'm not THAT weird).

I'm not a big fan but I can understand why you like it, however, don't forget to buy skin-friendly pens, otherwise (and especially if it's a regular thing) you can absorb toxic components through your skin.

Oh that's really cool, finding a way to explore your passion! Strangely enough, I never had a class or an internship about preparation (which is stupid because I've messed up some fossils trying to take them out of the rock they were in... Including one time involving acid, where I managed to "fuse" the rock and the fossil together). So you're the magician who makes something nice emerge from the rock^^ that must be really interesting!
My first internships (research) were at the uni's lab, and the one I'm currently doing (with the public this time) is at the Paléospace (Normandy, France). If you're in the area...

Yep you're right. I checked (and if anyone is wondering, on a '67 Impala the metal part on front near the wheels wouldn't make a straight angle but a 45° one. Sorry I don't know shit about cars but that's the most noticeable difference I see). In my defense, op thought like me!

They're making a reference to Superwholock, the holy trinity that rules tumblr : 1967 Chevrolet Impala for Supernatural, the Tardis for Dr Who and Sherlock is a bit late it seems.

Fuck I showed these to two colleagues and they DO NOT know the concept of memes, nor did they understand what was goind on. One saw the 2nd pic and asked "why are you telling me not to do that?". They think I'm weird and retarded.

This needs to be on a flag. I can just imagine someone howling loudly and right away his muscles and organs vanish and the animal crawls out of his mouth.

Hey-o sorry I couldn't answer earlier, I didn't have internet access. Technically I'm not a palaeontologist but I do have a master's degree in palaeontology, which allowed me to discover pretty cool stuff but didn't give me a job (sadly), so I picked back other studies and now I'm studying Cultural Heritage and museology... and I'm currently doing another internship in a palaontology museum!
My studies were focused on marine invertebrae, mostly Jurassic-Cretacean but I did internships about insects in amber (it was the best), micropalaeontology (lol bad choice) and one about fossils used by prehistorical men (fucking great).
You?

Ugh that's frustrating the only link I find is from the American Museum of National History and they just say it's from Dominican Republic without any further information on the spider and no link about the fucking research that was done on it.

awesome. I once saw one during an internship and amber preserves stuff so well there were still hairs on its body. Aesthetics + paleontology = happiness.

I think it's because, you know, it's embedded in them. They would be someone totally different. They don't know which part of their personality comes from the autism, but they do know that they would have had an entirely different life, so if they cut out something that was in them from the very beginning and has had a huge impact on their life and their self construction, they would be deconstructed and they don't know what would be left of them.
(I don't have autism but I'm "gifted" -I don't like the word because it sounds great when in fact it's not- and I've spent many years wondering if I would have liked to take a chance to live in a world where I wouldn't have been bullied, where I wouldn't have been a burden on my parents and where I would have lived simply with friends and without existential crisis at 7. But I have simply no clue who I am without that, and that is in fact terryfying. What I know however is that I'm proud of who I am today and I don't want to lose that).
