At this point in time, a possible solution to the Simpsons/Futurama prediction the future is that Matt Groening is actually the oracle for all of humanity, but he got bored of his almighty position and power, so he abandoned it and became a cartoonist. Unfortunately over time some of his numerous predictions have worked their way into his shows, by 'accident'. Also that's why the world has slowly been turning to crap, because we've lacked an oracle for two decades.
