I mean it kind of sucks because Girl Scouts isn’t nearly as cool as Boy Scouts. Instead of letting girls join, Girl Scouts should just be made cooler somehow.

He lets that steep, and by now the coffee/burning smell is so strong it’s woken up all six of the other housemates, who have all come downstairs and are staring at this concoction with undisguised horror. He pours this sludge into a mug, stirs in about four /tablespoons/ of sugar and slides it my way. I’ve had three sips when it hits, and I feel my heart trip on a beat. I must have gone white cause he nods, all pleased, and asks for payment.

I needed a strong potion so I hired a wizard called Wilson the Mad Magic Man. He says he’ll have it ready by the next day. When he asked for my address, I figured he’d drop it off by the door. But I wake to the sound of footsteps downstairs. I go into the kitchen and there he is, methodically crushing caffeine pills with the bottom of a glass on a ceramic plate, periodically dusting the powder into a cooking pot. Meanwhile, his coffee pot is chugging away on the counter. As I watch, he takes the coffee pot, empties it into the cooking pot, lets THAT come to a boil and dumps in some of his Turkish coffee, AND the remaining caffeine pill powder, which by now is starting to look uncomfortably like coke.

How parenting should be, always: Taking care of your kid and preparing them to take care of themself
This is silly and it’s good that there are higher standards now. Now people have to wear seatbelts, and vaccines are required. If the kid is being neglected they are helped.
