Ok so when my mom was born there was no ultrasounds just doctors listening for heartbeats.
My Grandmother kept telling everyone she is having twins she knew it. But everyone and the doctor told her nope only 1 baby.
Well the day came for the baby to be born. This was when the moms had a room and than taken to a separate room to deliver.
So my uncle was born everything went smooth even the after birth came. So they take my tired grandmother back to her room. The whole time she tells them she is ha ing another one. They refuse to believe her so she gets out of bed and WALKS her self to the delivery room. So they decided to look and sure enough my mom was starting to crown.
That is how my mom was born lol she was born with a chest cold and she loles to say it is because her brother left the door open lol.

Ok sorry busy day lol ok crickets
So my uncle buck lived next door to us on our family land. He was taking care of a bunch if fish my family buys each year or 2 to fill our tank (it is a man made lake on our pasture). So my uncle is a cheapskate and told my brothers he pay a nickle for every cricket and a dime for every grasshopper they catch. They don't do it so I decide to do it. So 17 me was walking through our pasture with an old butter tub with a jagged cut in the top so I can put more in and none can get out. I caught 80 crickets and 65 grasshoppers took me 3 days so I should of gotten 10.50. What I did get was 1.05 because my cousin told him I collected only 1.05 worth of bugs.
So revenge was needed I went to where he kept the bugs that night. It was in the kitchen next to the sliding glass door. The door was unlocked cause it is the country lol.I open the door reached in and let the demons lose into the kitchen lol. 145 bugs hopping to freedom lmao they never knew it was me.

I was still a kid when they first came out. So of course me and my brothers wanted them. But my parents even though both had good paying jobs had 6 kids and my grandmother to take care of so money was low. So my was a penny pincher and still is. She noticed that the mall she worked at was working on a new store next to her. They had foam pipe covers left over from the build. My mom walked over and asjed if she can have them because they were going to throw them away. They gave them to her and she than got a water safe fabric from a friend who worked for a craft store and made covers for the tubes.
She did it because they were slit all down one side.
We used those things for atleast 2 or 3 summers lol.
It is funny because now you can buy them at a dollar store for a buck lmao

How much were they when they first came out?

I remember them being around 3 or 4 bucks but we wanted one each.
So 6×4=24 dollars. Or somewhere around there. But thanks to my mom making our own we got 4 each lol
We use to tie them together and make a giant float pad.
