@Zeus i'mnot lying. a while ago i had a problem with uploading gifs and asked if you could increase the uploadsize, but then you said you decreased it now because the server have not rly much space. now it's 1.8mb upload max.before i asked you, it was higher.

don't say i lie if you just don't remember stuff anymore @Zeus ..

I have a log of all code changes. Max image size was increased from 1.6MB to 1.8MB on 14 Jul 2017. Here's the chat where the discussion took place http://funsubstance.com/chat/view/id/185777/
You seriously want to argue with me when I have more evidence than you?

Oh hot damn.

@Zeus the max upload size (as shown in the logs) was like 2mb. but now it's 1.8mb.if you didnt decreased it, why its noeadays less than in the log you show? in the past it was 2mb, now 1.8mb..sooo..? you even can see in the chat log i told you its decreased.

quote: "come on :'(... i want to upload a 2.9mb gif file and i get this error : "Image cannot be larger than 1.8MB" whats going on^_^*?.." and you said "If you very much want to post that gif, send it to me. I can help you manually compress it. The problem with higher compression is that it takes too long to use in file uploads."

that's exactly what i said above. it was max size from 2mb (your system told me that at uploads), then you "increased" it and then it was suddenly 1.8mb max upload. thats decreasing not increasing if you ask me. before this change i could upload 2mb files, now i can't. soooo..?

i quote you.. "Maybe I'll increase it in the future when technology improves" thats what i said above. don't say i lie if you even have logs about it ;(

My god why are you so angered, just tune down the gif size like a normal person
kouyaaotsuki · 5 years ago
You want to exchange contacts and i’ll send a compressed version
deleted · 5 years ago
@kouyaaotsuki i already tune down the gif sizes, the problem is that 1.8mb is really low. but that's not the main problem why i created this chat x_x the reason for it was, that i uploaded a gif and after the upload it was suddenly a jpeg. so there is some error / system function which caused that. because if i upload another gif, this don't happen. so something is wrong / buggy. i don't know why FS should convert a gif to a jpeg instead of just using the gif. this never happend to me. that's the reason for the chat.. the other thing is "old stuff".. i said already everything about that, i don't want to argue hour about it.. it's okay. even if it's sucks that gifs are looking like you recorded them with a potato because you need to tune it down that much. when you could upload 2.09mb big gif's it was a little bit better.. but yeah, wayne.

Where in the message did I say it was 2mb? I don't know why you're trying to sow discord for no reason.
Zeus: "I've increased the max size slightly."
Deleted: "did you REALLY increased the max size? because i wanted to upload a 3.02mb big gif and it said that the max size is 2.09mb."
Zeus: "Ok so there's an upload size limit and post size limit. I forgot to change the upload size limit. It's now at 5MB. "
Deleted: "i want to upload a 2.9mb gif file and i get this error : "Image cannot be larger than 1.8MB" whats going on^_^*?.."
Deleted already acknowledged that both upload size and image size was increased. Either you're feinging ignorance to start trouble or you just have no idea what you're talking about. If there's something you're not happy about you could have contacted us. I've always responded to requests when they're reasonable.

@Zeus don't worry. i don't want to spread hate / be bad to anyone. i like this community. but i know for sure that in the past i was be able to upload 2.09mb big gif files. because i thought in the past that 2.09mb is not much for gif files (they are often much more in size), i asked you in past if you could increase the filesize. after you then said you increased the filesize & uploadsize, suddenly the max upload size for my uploads happend to be 1.80mb, and not 2.09mb anymore. so the upload-max-size where decreased after your change. if i upload now a gif (or another image) which is bigger than 1.80mb, FS is telling me "maxfilesize is 1.80mb".. and in the past it was 2.09mb. so something is wrong / i don't get something. i like you, but thats how it is. for me, the filesize did decreased. maybe it happend to be a bug in the past that i was able to upload files with a max size of 2.09mb? don't know. but i could. so, yeah :/ anyway. that's not the problem currently.. the problem[...]

why i created this chat thread here is that FS did convert a gif file from me to jpeg after the upload. is this a feature? or what happend here?

I've already explained before. The upload size limit was the 2.09mb, now 5mb. That's the error you were getting. Now you're getting the image size error. It's now 1.8mb, used to be 1.6mb. They are 2 different errors. Both of the size limit was increased. As for the jpeg problem. When people save still photos or animated gif, they don't use the correct format. Sometimes jpeg are animated, sometimes gif are still. There's a code that tries to detect animation so it knows if it's actually a gif. The problem is that the GIF in question does not adhere to the correct format so the code does not detect the animation, thinking it's a still photo.
