Hey guys, so I'm gonna be valedictorian for my school (yay!) along with a few other kids, and I'm trying to figure out what angle I should take with my speech. Since there are so many kids, they want us to keep it around 2 or 3 minutes, and I'm going to include some thanks, but I was wondering if it would be better to keep my speech serious or if I should sprinkle in some humor?? It's short and sweet, so boring the crowd isn't an issue if I give a serious speech, but would you as an audience member still want to hear some humor?

Humor is always a good way to lighten to mood, especially as there will be so many sad moms and nervous new graduates.

Thanks for the advice, and yes there are six valedictorians! My school doesn't narrow it down, so since six kids have 4.0, we all will give speeches
