It’s comparing The Novice by Taran Matharu and Ruins of Gorlan in the Rangers Apprentice series.

Comparative essays suck, has your teacher given you a specific layout to follow? Cause my year 12 comparative had a different structure to other peoples.

Okay well, do you have a specific question you are answering for each paragraph about the two novels?

They key to doing comparative essays is finding ONE major similarity and breaking it down

I have to find "techniques" for them, which I have found, and then show how both of the stories portray them similarly/differently. The sucky part is the setting out of it.

All you have to do is pick one technique for each paragraph, then expand on their similarities and differences. Like a regular essay, the introduction explains the summary of the paragraphs in short then the conclusion is any argument you wish you further explain or back.
