I got hurt at work. That funny enough?
parisqeen · 4 years ago
Depends how you got hurt (are you okay tho?)

I was cleaning a deep fryer and the lid started to fall and my dumb ass thought "quick, better catch it!", and the lid smashed my middle finger onto the steel.
It's not broken, but its swollen, bruised, hurts like hell, and watching the doctor put a hole in my nail to let the blood out was honestly pretty traumatizing

For those of you who do not know about weights and measures, every state government has their own weights and measures department and sometimes cities even have their own. They enforce scale measurements and ensure that The product weighed is truly accurate so the customer does not get ripped off. Anyways I was in a petsmart and witnessed somebody placing stickers on scales. Without thinking I mentioned how much of a pain it is to deal with weights and measures. She nervously laughed. It then dawned on me that she might be from weights and measures. I said unless you are from weights measures. There was an awkward silence and she said yes she was and asked what company I was with. I said I should probably stop talking now. And we both had a nervous laugh. Glad I wasn't wearing my company logo shirt at the time lol. Maybe not funny to all but funny to me lol.

@dr_richard_ew if it makes you feel any better (and I see no reason why it would) I somehow managed to pop the entire center of my toenail out once.
dr_richard_ew · 4 years ago
That helps a bit, but now I'm also gonna see that in my nightmares... oh well, might as well pile em all in

Alright, how bout another story to potentially make y'all feel better. Maybe I've told it before, not sure.
'
I was in Wal-Mart one day, and I was waiting by the carts at the front of the store for someone. The front of this particular store had the entrance door parallel with the parking lot. Then there was a long glass/plastic/whatever section of wall, and around the corner of this section is where the exit door was located.
'
I wasn't facing the doors, but I was only maybe 5 feet away from them, just looking on my phone, minding my business, when all of a sudden there's this ungodly bang from behind me. I turn around and some woman has walked full-force into the plastic panel. Evidently she didn't realize that the exit door was around the corner... or that there were no doors here... or that they didn't open for her when she approached.

I'd like to say I asked her if she was okay as she was rubbing her head quite a lot, but sadly I was doing my very best not to start laughing and would definitely have lost it if I had tried to talk to her. Luckily some other woman with more self control than I have did manage to come over and make sure the woman was okay. She'd actually managed to walk into the wall with such force she had to sit down for a few minutes

That's almost impressive

The sound certainly was

@one_puma My condolences, lad! That was painful to just read. @dr_richard_ew I’m glad you’re alright. @xvarnah I hope that lady’s skull is in tact!
xvarnah · 4 years ago
@firmlee_grasspit honestly this chain of events offers little evidence that her skull was intact to begin with.

Also I hope you can get some sleep!

I was over at my neighbors house when they just moved in. My family had known them for a couple years before so we kinda just went over there and played with their dogs (when they were there of course) but they had a very large pit bull Great Dane mix they had adopted. She was very sensitive and jumpy because we think she had been abused or something similar with her old owner. My neighbors also didn’t have a leash for her yet so they used this weird wire/ cable looking thing. Basically I was over there petting them and she had gone behind me when a loud noise had startled her so she started running (to put it into perspective I was facing forward she was in my left then went behind me and then started to run on my right side) so the cable was running against my ankles. She was a big dog like I’ve said so the cable burned a line in the back of each ankle and tipped me over. I couldn’t walk for about a week and even then it still hurt. I still love the dog and visit her still but just

have to be more cautious (they replaced the leash but still get a little flashback when she is behind me lol) Now I’ve got 2 scars and a hell of a story to tell :)

firmlee_grasspit · 4 years ago
@xvarnah No skull...no brain to be held. Yes, I have finally gotten 20 minutes of solid sleep!
@hydrofalcon Ouchies. Do you still have scars?
@sunflowers Yes, I am!
xvarnah · 4 years ago
@firmlee_grasspit anything more is just excessive. You don't want to spoil yourself
hydrofalcon · 4 years ago
@firmlee_grasspit yup still have the scars! They are less noticeable now but definitely still there
