Is it tight as in difficult to breathe?
Is it itchy at all?
Does it feel dry?
llamas0can0fly · 4 years ago
doesn't feel dry, my throat is sometimes itchy but not close to the same spot.
it doesn't make it difficult to breathe but it usually hurts when I breathe.

It hurts more when I swallow too, so that’s also why I think it’s the back of my tongue not my throat. But I could be wrong.

I'm thinking it's probably the start of a cold or maybe a throat infection. It could also be an allergic reaction to something though, like hayfever. I know this might sound weird but gargling salt water helps fight off any infection that might be starting, make sure you go to bed early and keep eating your veg so you have enough vitamins . If you feel as if your throat is starting to swell or breathing becomes difficult maybe see a doctor.

Also a spoonful of honey and some nutmeg tea (nutmeg numbs the ouchie)

I had the same problem....its tho it can be tonsils

The best two cures I ever came across are gurgling warm salt water
blazingfrags · 4 years ago
And other one is take some ginger and like in a vessel smash it to pull till it's juices are out, after that pour some honey on that ginger and thoroughly mix that....now slowly drink this dense liquid and also feel it passing down your tongue and throat soothing it....this is real good method that my dad told me to try after meds were not helping..and this helped

Smash it to pulp*

Ginger is a natural anti-inflammatory and antibacterial agent, plus it tastes good so I second @blazingfrogs idea

You know when you think someone's username is something and then you actually spell it and realise you've been lying to yourself this entire time and their name isn't about setting amphibians on fire

Sounds like a possible bacterial infection or swollen tonsils? I had similar symptoms and I had to get antibiotics help me and I had to gargle warm salt water to lower the swelling
llamas0can0fly · 4 years ago
I’m gonna try to do all these things, thank you guys for all of your help!

Tbh if it still feels bad in a week or so I would make an appointment with a doctor. It may be nothing but it's better to find out.
.
Especially if it's something to do with the tonsils or throat. It doesn't sound like strep to me, but if it's an infection of that sort you may end up needing antibiotics as infections like that can end up being severe, painful, and lead to things like tonsilitis. It seems strange that it might be if the symptoms are fluctuating, though.
.
Idk if anyone asked, but if you have any allergies to something that could be a potential cause as well
.
Do you have any white spots on your throat or tongue? Or a thick tongue coat? Are you tasting anything weird?
llamas0can0fly · 4 years ago
I have allergies in the spring bc of pollen flying around but not this time of year normally. I don’t have white spots or anything and I’m not tasting anything weird either.
xvarnah · 4 years ago
It could still possibly be allergy related. But just a theory. It doesn't sound like it's Oral Thrush either so far
blazingfrags · 4 years ago
@parisqueen tbh blazingfrogs is way better and now I wanna change it tho frogs are kinda cute and yep..there are chances that it's an alergy thing but since it's on and off for a couple of weeks..try to pinpoint thr cause like maybe it can be as simple to drinking water that's too cold

Nah blazingfrags make more sense hahah, I just read it as frogs in my mind for the longest time.
@llamas0can0fly If it's really starting to bug you, it's always better to be safe than sorry and see a doctor, just in case.
