Cant meet up with my doctor until next Wednesday, so I'm trying to get more information about it

My sister-in-law has it, but didn't even know until she had trouble getting pregnant. They had to do one round of IVF, but I am happy to say that I am expecting a nephew in January <3.

I've had it for 12 years and finally had it under control for about 3, I'm happy to answer any questions you have

I dont want kids so the infertility part doesn't bother me
I'm more worried about the diabetes I could get and I'm starting to get sleep apnea which is crazy scary
Do you guys have problems with your cysts popping and if you do what do you do when that happens?
I'm also going to ask my doctor all these questions, but having you guys share your info will help me to not freak out

Going on metformin was the best thing I ever did, it works for insulin resistance/type 2 diabetes. My understanding is it works in three ways, stopping your intestines absorbing as much sugar, making your cells listen to the insulin more effectively, and reducing how much glucose your liver makes. Metformin was the only way I could lose weight, I lost just over 5 stone and am now a normal weight so miht help with your sleep apnea too. I know you said fertility isn't a worry for you but losing weight has given me a regular cycle where I now ovulate every month and have shorter, less painful, and lighter periods. I don't have any advice for rupturing cysts unfortunately, I suffer really badly from it and nothing I have found helps.

I was told that if the pain of the ruptured cyst doesn't subside, or is so bad I throw up, to go to A&E. Generally speaking now that my cycle is regular I know when it's going to happen so it's not a shock. For me my ovary will be sore the week leading up to my period if my bladder/bowel is full or wind passes by and then some point on the second day of my period (which is my most crampy day) the cyst will rupture and a lot of swearing will happen. If you don't want kids is having your ovaries removed an option?

I mean, I could. The only thing stopping me is the price if the surgery
