I used to say it a lot between my brothers but the words igga or ninja are what we use now.

Ah, I also used to say it, still do sometimes, but mostly I use Nathan now.

Somehow. Idk. I find it kind of funny.

Apart from that I never say it

I don’t really listen to rap/hip hop so I never have a reason to say it.
Also my mum raised me a catholic girl so I’m hesitant to swear regardless

I also don't listen to rap and hip hop and this is not part of how I was raised, the only times I'd say it if I had English speaking people next to me are when someone does something stupid and that "really ni**a" meme pops in my head.
In French I would absolutely never use it unless I'm reading aloud some old book or discussing the concept of "négritude" created by the black author Leopold Sedar Senghor. It's just too wrong.

A surprising amount of people on this site don't listen to hip hop, that's odd. It's the most popular genre. I know @funkmasterrexx listens to it, but there must be more.

I love hip-hop but I mostly listen to Eminem but yeah I used to say it when I'm alone, although most of my friends used the n-word casually when we were in school everyday because no one knew the meaning
timebender25 · 3 years ago
I've never really said it, not in the "uwu I'm pure" way but I just never really gave a shit because I'd have to go out of my way to do so. I don't listen to the songs that use it, and if I did i don't ever sing along because I hate my voice.

Even if I did encounter it more I wouldn't say it because bro I'm white. But that's not important if i basically never see the word to begin with.
scatmandingo · 3 years ago
I do when alone. It’s just a word that’s in a song. There is no malice intended from me using it so it doesn’t hurt anyone.

Hip hop and rap maybe popular due to it being in the radio but it isn't the favorite to listen to at public events for obvious reasons. I grew out of that phase when I started listen to the lyrics and it made feel completely awful. Those rappers glorifying such awful lifestyles and ideologies is what got me to stop listening to them. And after a while they all started to sound the same or worse they started using nonsense jiberish. I only use the word ninja as playful sense between my brothers since it's one of the few things that connect us together. Other than that I never use it. It's really not needed or warranted.

I don't listen to hip-hop, but I feel bad just thinking of the word, and I don't sing around people. Hell, I don't even swear irl, only online.
lydia · 3 years ago
Plus, I'm mostly white, so it wouldn't be acceptable imo.

@honeybumblebee I don't think radio is the only source of hip hop being popular world wide. It's an international sensation right now and every country has their own emerging hip hop scene. So, I think it's more than the radio. And if your public event is a party then pretty much hip hop is what's played right now at every party. Obviously you won't play hip hop at wedding ceremonies and stuff, but even then there are exceptions and personal choices.
Also, hip hop has never been more diverse than it is at the moment, yes, it's getting oversaturated with a certain brand of artists, but there are so many good artists to listen to at the same time.
It's all about preferences tho, I am not judging or something, this was just to say my piece and opinion about hip hop.

lol yeah, I say it when I'm singing alone or if it's part of a joke, but that's it.

Black dude here. I love hip hop. But I won't say the word.
parisqeen · 3 years ago
Yeah I don't really listen to hip-hop all that much, I don't say it anyways cause I don't think it's appropriate (being white, it's like a derogatory term).
