Inland hurricane in Iowa

Wondering who had heard about the inland hurricane that ripped through my state and a few others Monday? Mainline winds of up to 112 miles per hour. Hundreds of thousands of people were without power. Trees ripped up everywhere. Chunks of the roof of our hockey rink got ripped off. One of my friends sent a picture of a building in her town that had it's cement block wall torn right through. The city that got it worst has many with damaged houses, no power, no gas available, food hard to come by, and some of them can't even drive away because the roads are blocked by so many trees. On top of that, an entire third of crops in the state (we are the number one producer of Sounders and number two of corn) were destroyed. The crop damage was so extensive it can be seen from space in photos taken by NASA. It seems like there hasn't been a lot of reporting on this.

Catfluff Yes we are fine. Our direct area wasn't hit as badly. By God's grace the baby kept me up most of the night so my husband stayed home from his job where he would have been out in the middle of it in his work truck. It was insane to watch. We were without power for 19 hours and we had to toss everything in the fridge, but even our freezers were fine. No damage to cars or buildings in my apartment complex.
