So, aside from a Nintendo switch, I have never bought an actual game console for myself before. My xbox 360 I had, and my current console, my xbox 1, were all stuff my brother gave me when he upgraded systems respectively. I've decided to start saving up to get an xbox series x for myself. I actually briefly thought about creating a money pool and posting the link, but, that'd actually be pretty crappy of me. It's a game console, and I shouldn't ask people to chip in to help me buy it. Anyway, I figured that since I'm finally doing something numerically quantifiable, I'd keep y'all up to date on my progress.

And yes, I know there are other things I should be saving up for. Emergency funds, a car, etc... But honestly, I don't have a lot of things I enjoy. Video games is one of them. And hopefully, I'll be saving enough that I won't be spending as much on alcohol instead.

I don't think you have to rebuy theme. PS5's work with steam, if they're going to go to a cloud format.... xbox either goes extinct or catches up; option two is a win for you.

If I switch from Xbox to PlayStation, I WILL have to rebuy everything. If I just get the lastest Xbox, all the xbox games I already own digitally will carry over.

hell yeah, that way you can have the tv on in the background if you want. If you want a controller, all of them are compatible with steam besides a switch (i think, i've never tried, all playstation 3,4,5 and xbox controllers are, and there is also the steam controller. You actually don't even need steam, the drivers are online.
